Meet Frida, My New Sewing Pattern

Meet Frida, My New Sewing Pattern

Sh'e finally here💖   My, oh so long overdue, new sewing pattern.

I wanted to step away from complicated sewing, it probably has something to do with the age I'm at, and step into patterns that are a joy to sew and even more rewarding to wear.  So what makes me so excited about this one, a sweatshirt pattern?  The pattern drafter in me wanted modern proportions.  I wanted cozy and easy, but I most certainly didn't want bulky, boxy and big.

A woman with blonde hair is shown in profile wearing a black knit sweater with a vibrant multicolor floral pattern on the front and white pants, set against a plain white studio background.

And so in came the Frida slimmer sleeve draft.  Still comfortable, with removed excess bulk so it's wearable under a coat.  We've all had that Michelin feeling with a bulky knit!! Then came in the slightly curved front hem.  Shorter in the front and  curving to the back. Once again reducing unnecessary extra bulk that is NEVER flattering.

I hope you love her as much as I do! Did I mention the sizing?  Wonderfully inclusive size chart for this one 👚

If you're curious how to choose fabric for your Frida, I wrote a blog about it: How I Choose Fabric for a New Pattern.

Have fun with this pattern!  Share your makes with #FPPSewingFrida and be on the look out for a sew-along and YT vid to help with all things sewing knits ✂️

Happy sewing! ~ Joanna
